Principal's Welcome
Dear Students, Parents, Teachers, and Negishi Community Members: Beginning on August 7, 2007, I have the pleasure beginning my second year administrative duties as the Richard E. Byrd Elementary School Principal and I am very pleased to have the opportunity to continue in this administrative assignment. Richard E. Byrd Elementary School has a rich history that I hope will continue to grow while I am your school principal. I can also assure you that all of our instructional programs will continue to be based on the importance of education for all students in a multi-cultural school, community and society. Additionally, and most importantly, all our parents are encouraged to become actively involved in their children’s education and are welcome to visit and volunteer in classrooms whenever possible. Also, for all of our parents and community members, I will hold a “Meet the Principal Night” on August 22 at 17:30 in the school Cafeteria to introduce myself to our new parents and get a chance to meet the community and address school and community relations. Please plan to attend if you have the opportunity. I look forward to meeting as many community members, parents and students as possible. We also request that all of our parents take a moment to read the Richard E. Byrd Elementary School 's Parent – Student handbook that was sent home to our parents via your email addresses. If any parent wishes to have a printed copy of the information, please let the school office know. The purpose of the Parent – Student Handbook is to provide current, relevant and worthwhile information regarding our local school policies as well as the current DODEA and DODDS-Pacific guidelines.
