School Bus Transportation Richard E. Byrd Elementary School is mainly a walking school with limited school bus transportation provided to students living off-base in the nearby Yokohama area. Currently, there is a mid-sized micro bus that transports approximately ten off base students to and from school daily. There is no school bus transportation within the Negishi Housing Area for any students because the school is easily accessible from the main housing gate entrances and is within a short walking or bicycle riding distance from anywhere in the housing area. Parents may drive their children to school as well as pick them up at the end of the school day providing that they use the designated drop off and parking areas located near the school. Special Note: students five (5) and under must be escorted to and from school in accordance with present CFAY Command Instructions governing the supervision of minor dependents on any CFAY facility. |
